Trees
of Winter
This photographic project began in 1999 with
my relocation to Chicago after 20 years in California. I was mesmerized by the beauty and serenity of Winter and was intrigued by the way Mother Nature could so majestically cover
and silence a major city. It continues to evolve.

Rural
Heartlands
Raised
surrounded by the rich farmlands of Southern Minnesota, these
photographs pay tribute to my Midwest heritage. As I
moved from the heartlands and experienced urban and
suburban living throughout the United States, I developed a greater
appreciation for the beauty and open spaces of my origin. The creation
of Rural Heartlands brought me back to my roots and the values I cherish.

North Woods
Going "Up North" was apart of growing up in Minnesota.
Now I often travel to Northern Wisconsin where it is wonderfully unpopulated and one can still experience pristine wilderness.

State
Fair
The
Illinois State Fair delighted me as little has changed over the years.
It seemed to have been frozen in time. Whether this exhibition brings
back happy memories or entices you to attend and create new ones; relish the
experience that comes with good old fashioned fun.

Chicago
Street
My wanderlust spirit combined with a passion for seeking out the unique,
has resulted in the creation of a
diverse portfolio of Street Photography of my city. I
simply capture what catches my eye or crosses my path, and marvel at life in
the process. The magnificence of Chicago is a secret in the process of
revealing itself. This body of work continues to
evolve.

Nature
God it the ultimate creator. As I
photograph the wonders of nature, I marvel at the magnificence of His
amazing designs and creations. Photographing the beauty and bounty of
trees and botanicals quickly becomes a humbling and grateful act of worship.
This body of work continues to evolve.

Still
Life
The
extraordinary often resides in the ordinary.
Frequently we are too close to see its uniqueness or beauty.
Oftentimes it is the stillness that silently draws my attention. This is a work in progress.

Night
Sweats and Angel Wings
This
body of work evolved after I was diagnosed
with breast cancer. Throughout treatment there were many times when I
knew I was only getting through by the grace of God. I could almost
hear the rustle of angel wings. This is my visual prayer of
Thanksgiving for all the "wings" who lovingly carried me through.

San
Francisco Street
My
17 year residency in San Francisco initiated my entree into Street
Photography. I was enamored with the beauty of this
feminine pastel city. Enshrouded in fog and linked to the rest of the
world via two majestic gateways, the luminous radiance of San
Francisco seemed to lure and blend the originality of the universe.

Paris
Work
I
am totally enchanted with Paris. From the sound of accordions on street corners in the evening
to the curve of the rounded rooftops, it is a visual feast and clearly a
city that truly reflects and appreciates beauty. Periodically, I simply must
return.

Living
Water
This
body of work has evolved from a scripture that was written on my heart...
"You shall be like a watered garden."
Isaiah 58:11. I often retreat to the Chicago Botanical Gardens to find
inspiration in nature. It was there that this scripture came alive and
fully revealed itself in the living waters of the aquatic garden.

Lamentations
The
tragedy that befell our nation on September 11, 2001 brought the world to
its knees in mourning. From the depths of my own sadness I sought to
come to grips with the reality of this tragedy. This body of work pays
reverence to the very human act of mourning. May it give us a sense of
urgency and serve as an important reminder that "all our days are
numbered".
